Camping near one of Canada’s most famous attractions should be on everyone’s bucket list!  There are lots of amazing campgrounds in Niagara Falls and the surrounding area to enjoy this summer, whether it’s solo, as a couple, or a family!

Living in Niagara, I’m so pleased to see so many campgrounds within a short distance to Niagara Falls! Whether its campgrounds nestled along the Niagara Escarpment or along beaches on Lake Erie, there are tons of campsites to pick from close to wineries, golf courses, hiking, and sightseeing!

Plus, with many campgrounds offering discounted rates for Niagara Falls attractions and shuttle buses stops right at the property, camping is an affordable and fun way to experience what this beautiful region has to offer.

From locals to visitors alike, it’s not hard to understand why camping in Niagara is so popular. From stunning scenery, water views, access to lake swimming, fishing, and water activities, there’s no shortage of outdoor activities to do at these campgrounds.

Niagara Falls Campgrounds

Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp Resort Niagara Falls

Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park is one of the most well-known campgrounds in Niagara. This campground features tent and RV sites, cottage, yurt, and cabin rentals just minutes from Niagara Falls. 

Each site has a firepit, picnic table, and parking. On weekends, there are themed recreation programs offering fun for the whole family including organized games, crafts, wagon rides, and visits with Yogi Bear, BooBoo Bear, and Ranger Smith!

Take a dip in their heated pool, let your kids run free on their playground, go mini-putting, go pedal-carting, bounce on the inflatable trampoline, take a ride on the world’s tallest inflatable waterslide, or take part in any number of leisure activities on-site.

Laundry facilities, modern washrooms and showers, and WiFi is available.

Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park offers a shuttle service to the Table Rock Complex at the brink of Horseshoe Falls and you can also purchase discount tour packages through the campground for touring Niagara Falls!

Niagara Falls KOA Holiday

Niagara Falls KOA offers Wi-Fi, a hot tub/sauna, camping kitchen, mini-golf, doggy day camp, indoor and outdoor pool and much more! Located just 5 km from the brink of Niagara Falls, this campground is a great central location to explore nearby.

Scott’s Family Campground

Scott’s Family Campground is located near Horseshoe Falls and offers family fun in a peaceful environment!

This campground offers tent sites surrounded by large trees, pull-thru sites able to accommodate large RVs, WiFi, kitchen shelter, and a propane refill station. There is also a heated pool with waterslide and playground.

The WeGo Shuttle Bus stops in front of the campground, giving guests easy access to the falls!

Campark Resorts

Located a short drive from Niagara Falls, Campark offers fun for the whole family including mini-putt, tube mazes, playgrounds, a splash pad, hay rides, escape room, laser tag,  pool, and many other recreational activities. 

From tent sites, cabin rentals, and RV sites, Campark also offers day passes and seasonal sites. There is a shuttle bus that takes you directly to Niagara Falls for those looking to explore the Niagara Falls area!

Riverside Park Motel and Campground

Located along the Niagara Parkway between Niagara Falls and Fort Erie is the Riverside Park Motel and Campground. This quiet and family-friendly campground a few minutes from the heart of Niagara Falls is perfect for nature lovers. 

From birdwatching to boating and fishing on the Niagara River, this campsite is also close to hiking trails at the Niagara Gorge. Plus, with close proximity to Lake Erie, you can also kayak, canoe, water-ski, and scuba dive!

Riverside Park Motel offers free hot showers and washroom facilities, a laundromat, and a camp store with groceries, camping supplies, and ice cream. Take a dip in their pool, play in the arcade room, or take a bike ride along the Niagara Parkway for scenic Niagara River views.

If camping isn’t your thing, you can opt to stay in one of their cozy motel rooms.

Shangri-La Niagara Family Campground

Nestled along the Niagara Escarpment amongst Carolinian forest in the heart of Niagara’s wine region is the Shangri-La Niagara Family Campground. 

Shangri-La Niagara is located along the incredible Bruce Trail with endless hiking trails and just a few minute’s drive to wineries and golf courses. From dance nights, karaoke, outdoor movies and a number of recreational activities and themed events, Shangri-La Niagara is a hidden oasis. 

In addition to tent and RV sites, there are also cabin rentals on property which feature antique furniture and decor.

Big Valley Camping Resort

Big Valley Camping Resort is tucked away in a valley along the Niagara Escarpment. From campfires, swimming, and sleeping under the stars, this campground offers a quiet stay away from the main attractions of Niagara.

There is an ice cream and coffee shop on site, hot showers, pavilion and recreational activities. This is one of the most affordable campsites in Niagara, but if camping isn’t your thing, you can opt to stay in one of their cabins.

Jordan Valley Campground

Jordan Valley Campground is located in beautiful Twenty Valley, surrounded by lush Carolinian forest and along Twenty Mile Creek. Equipped with a pool, picnic area, sports facilities, comfort station and playground, this campground offers a picturesque and quiet setting.

There are more than 20 wineries less than 6 km away from the campground, as well as 2 km from the Bruce Trail and Ball’s Falls Conservation Area, which makes for the perfect day out in Lincoln! This campground in Niagara is close to Jordan Harbour where you can go kayaking, canoeing, and paddleboarding. 

There are tent and RV sites, glamping, cabins, and tiny homes to pick from.

Sherkston Shores 

Everyone knows about Sherkston Shores! Spanning two miles along Lake Erie and close to Niagara Falls and Buffalo, this campground offers loads of amenities, activities, and a variety of campsites, whether you’re a camper, renter, RVer or vacation cottager!

From water slides, mini golf, skate park, arcade, wake-boarding and boat launching to on-site dining (Boston Pizza) and grocery (and LCBO!), Sherkston Shores really has it all!

Pleasant Beach Campground 

Pleasant Beach Campground is a few minutes walk to the beaches on Lake Erie and only a 30 minute drive to Niagara Falls. 

This gated campground offers spacious seasonal RV sites as well as cozy cabin rentals. Cabins are pet-friendly and come fully equipped with a kitchenette, air conditioning, picnic table and fire pit.

Note: there is no overnight RV site availability.

N.E.T. Camping Resort

From camping to cabin rentals, N.E.T. Camping Resort is known for its beautiful large sites and picturesque lake located centrally within the Niagara Region.

This family-friendly Niagara campground is near Ball’s Falls Conservation Area and the Bruce Trail hiking trails, wineries, and golf courses. 

There are two large pools on site, sports area, bike and pedal boat rentals, splash pad, recreation centre and banquet centre available for group functions. There’s also a convenience store, laundromat and washrooms located throughout the park.

Windmill Point Park

Windmill Point Park offers a variety of camping sites, whether its tent or RV, quarry view to shaded sites. This campground offers fun for the entire family and is within close proximity to Port Colborne, Fort Erie, and Niagara Falls, as well as numerous beaches along Lake Erie.

Go swimming or paddleboarding in the quarry or relax on their own beach, sit and enjoy a picnic throughout the park, or visit their snack bar and store on a lazy summer day. 

The quarry on-site is unique; it spans 12 acres and is fed by natural spring water and can reach 82 degrees fahrenheit during the summer. It’s maintained and free of debris, and is ideal for swimming, snorkelling, fishing, and scuba diving (I actually learned to dive here!).

There are ongoing activities for campers, free hot showers, laundry facilities  and Windmill Point Park has become a family-favourite campground in Niagara!

Bissell’s Hideaway Campground

Bissell’s Hideaway Campground is a gorgeous property located in the quiet Short Hills of Niagara. Just minutes to Short Hills Provincial Park and the Bruce Trail, as well as St John’s Conservation Area, this campground offers fun for the entire family.

From one of Niagara’s largest swimming pools (over an acre in size!) to pedal boats, sport facilities, waterpark, and fishing, Bissell’s Hideaway is a perfect family getaway! It will feel like you’re camping in the wilderness while still being only minutes away from Niagara Falls and wineries.

Cabins and yurts are also available to stay at if you prefer not to camp by tent or RV.

Knight’s Hide-Away Park

Knight’s Hide-Away Park is located just south of Niagara Falls in Fort Erie. This campground is also a short drive to the Peace Bridge crossing into Buffalo, NY. 

 It’s close enough to the main attractions surrounding Niagara Falls, wineries, outdoor activities, and award-winning restaurants but still far away from the noise to provide a true camping experience!

Facilities include washrooms and free hot showers, camp store, and heated pool. Rec room, bike rentals, and free Wi-Fi. There are also recreational activities to take part in like Dance night and Karaoke night.

Niagara Parks Conservation Area Camping

Purchase your annual NaturePlus Pass from the NPCA! It grants you unlimited access to conservation areas across Niagara.

Campsite bookings open at the end of April.

Ps. if you live in Lincoln, did you know that library members can borrow an NPCA NaturePlus pass for up to 7 days? This pass will grant you day-use at their parks and you are able to access places like Ball’s Falls for free! These passes are available on a first-come-first-served basis.

Long Beach Conservation Area

Located on Lake Erie, Long Beach Conservation Area offers camping, swimming, fishing, sailboarding and jetskiing at this unique property. The sand and pebble beach is a natural playground for those who swim, sail, or enjoy taking in the views with the gentle Lake Erie breeze.

There are 225 serviced and unserviced campsites available from Victoria Day weekend through to Thanksgiving weekend.

Chippawa Creek Conservation Area 

Chippawa Creek Conservation Area offers 156 campsites with a variety of activities on site including camping, swimming, fishing, and non-motorized boating in Dils Lake, a hectare man made reservoir. 

There is also a small boat launch and access to the Welland River.

Unique Camping in Niagara Falls

Natures Energy Centre & Sanctuary

If you’re looking for something off-grid while still maintaining some modern conveniences, Natures Energy Centre & Sanctuary in Welland has you covered!

Offering two adorable cottages just 15 minutes from Niagara Falls, the most important feature about this property is the donkey sanctuary! Home to donkeys, a mule, pot-bellied pigs, goats, and dogs, proceeds from their two rentals go towards helping care for the animals.

The Hoblet
