I know – that’s a foreign concept to me as well! But I’ve come home more exhausted than rested from most of my trips because I try to squeeze in as much as possible – but as time goes on I realize how important it is to rest too!

Taking a rest day during your travel is very important. A few years ago, I travelled with a friend for the first time and while planning our itinerary I suggested a rest day. She laughed at me for suggesting such a thing…she now does it all the time!

Sometimes I get so excited about travelling to a new place that I have a whole itinerary for every day but then by day 3 , I’m tired and ready to go home!
