Unwind in Paradise at Privada Stays, Aruba (Review)

Looking for a place to stay on One Happy Island but don’t know where to pick? I can highly recommend Privada Stays Aruba. Let me break it down for you!

We knew when we came to Aruba the first time we didn’t want to stay at an all-inclusive. Quite frankly, it’s a waste! Like Curacao, Aruba has a ton of amazing places to eat and to explore off-resort. With car rentals being inexpensive and giving us the freedom to explore, that allowed us to be more flexible with where we decided to stay.

Visiting One Happy Island for the first time? Here’s what to know before going to Aruba.

Staying at Privada Stays Aruba

When we were planning our first trip, I found Privada Stays Boutique Hotel, just a 3 minute drive to Eagle Beach. I saw that it came with a private plunge pool and thought – we’re sold! A lot of people recommended staying in the Palm Beach area, but we wanted something quiet, less congested, and away from the crowds. Privada Stays ticked all the boxes!

We’ve now stayed here twice and we couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else. It’s THAT good.

This super cozy, adults-only, loft-type rental is the true definition of a private oasis. It gave us everything we needed – comfortable accommodations with air conditioning, a kitchenette so we could make our own meals/drinks, including a fridge and freezer and all kitchen supplies, and a glorious plunge pool. This was such a welcome sight in the afternoon after hanging out at the beach in the morning.

The entire process is contactless – everything is communicated via WhatsApp – and they provide your room and door lock code a couple hours prior to arrival. You’re supplied with enough of everything you need for your stay, PLUS they provide a cooler, beach towels, beach chairs, and snorkel gear!

Each of the 8 units at Privada Stays comes with a dedicated parking spot – really convenient so we could come and go as we pleased and always knew we’d have a place to park. We also loved that there was a convenience store at the end of the street to get drinks and snacks, and it’s run by the sweetest family.

We had a different room layout this time which gave us more afternoon sun – and that meant our plunge pool was warmer. We couldn’t wait to come back from the beach or from downtown and take a dip in its refreshing water.

There is no way we could come to Aruba and not have this type of setup!

Things to do near Privada Stays

Privada Stays is one of the best locations to get to anywhere on the island – but let’s be real, anywhere is easy to get to in Aruba!

You’re just a 3 minute drive to Eagle Beach, 15 minutes to Arashi Beach, or 40 minutes to the furthest beach – Baby Beach. It’s centrally located to a ton of amazing places to eat and numerous activities, like Hooiberg Mountain, Alto Vista Chapel, Casibari Rock Formations, and so much more.

Did you know that you can do the majority of sightseeing in Aruba without spending a dime! Aside from fun island excursions and visiting Arikok National Park, there are so many things to do in Aruba for free. Save your hard-earned money!

How to book your stay at Privada Stays

Wondering how to book? You can book directly with Privada Stays, but I like the convenience of using my account with Booking or Expedia – you’re given the option of free cancellation, plus you can earn status rewards or money to use towards future trips. You’ll receive your check in code a few hours prior to check-in (4:00 pm), so you’ll be all set to enjoy paradise as soon as you arrive!

They are opening their new Privada Stays Eagle in fall of 2025 – a larger complex of these heavenly suites, so if you can’t book a stay at Privada Stays Boutique, be sure to book at Eagle!
